Web Design Blog - Entry 5

Before making the final design I needed to create a table to place all of the elements in. This was started by importing my design into Photoshop, flattening it and separating each element into sections using the ruler tool to start forming a table. I then drew out the table on paper adding in where I thought there would need to be tables within tables. Each section was selected with the marquee tool so that I could see the measurements in terms of pixels and transfer these onto the paper drawn table. Images to be imported into Dreamweaver were selected and copied onto their own file in order to save separately for the web.
With this information I inserted a table into dreamweaver and began to change the sizes for each section.
I struggled with my first attempt at this as instead of creating tables within each other I was merging cells which meant that they were changing sizes according to those placed in relation to them.
However, once I figured out the best way to create the table, this process became a lot easier and I was able to create a fairly simple table and begin inserting the appropriate images in the cells.

Final Design

Final Design

My final design has been created largely from the ideas of my second initial design. After getting feedback from my client we decided that this design was best due to the colour scheme and layout. Therefore I moved the layout around slightly to improve on it and added in the newly designed logo. In order to show the client what the boxes would be used for and give an idea of how the final product would start to look, I added content into one of these. I also designed my own Facebook, Twitter and YouTube logos to fit in with the rest of the design.
My client was shown this final design and agreed that no changes would need to be made.
